About Me

NEEDLE.png

This is my business which I created from the ground up.  I own, manage, market, and do the embroidery all myself.  Quite a challenge and keeps me very busy.  My main and lifelong hobby is golf, but I enjoy a wide range of activities and interests and I’m usually game to try anything once.

Embroidery Town was "born" in 2003 because I wanted to move my mother into my home so I could care for her myself.    She had been in a nursing home for over two years. She had multiple medical problems, but did not need daily skilled nursing care.  As a member of “the greatest generation” I felt she deserved a better quality of life.  I was highly motivated to give it to her, and by leaving corporate America and starting my own business working from home I was able to do that.  After many months of planning I knew it would work and I could do it.  I just had to find a way to have an income.  I looked into several things, but when I came across a lady selling her embroidery business (also home based) I found my answer.  Although not an expert in either sewing or computers, I felt I knew enough to embrace the challenge and also develop my creative side. So I did.  I’m a firm believer in the old saying “Where there’s a will there’s a way.”  You have to make things happen.  You never gain anything if you don’t take a risk once in a while.    Believe in yourself and trust in God’s guidance.  The sky is the limit.

Mom came to live with me in May of 2003.  I was able to achieve my goal of improving her quality and enjoyment of life and preserving her dignity.  She was a wonderful, loving, caring person who raised a family of four children along with my father and she certainly deserved to spend her last years in the best environment possible.  I would like to thank my family and her caregivers for their help and support in the effort.  Without them I could not have done it.  In February of 2006, she passed away at the age of 85.    Embroidery Town will be forever dedicated to her.

Embroidery Town is a home based business located south of St. Louis Missouri. Missouri is the Show-Me State......so let me show you some great embroidery.  Let’s discuss your ideas and together we will make it appear in stitches.

Thanks for spending time in our Town! Come  back often!
